Treating/diagnosing Red Leg in a WTF

itzvic Jan 22, 2005 09:43 PM

Hey guys, I am new to the forum/site and I have done a few searches but I havent seen anything REAL good on Red Leg.

I have a old man for a whites tree frog (I bought him as a fully grown aduld..had him 5-6years), and his underside looks reddish, as well as his back legs.

He is acting totally normal, with no obvious symptoms other than his reddish underside. He is currently sitting on some bedabeast type bedding, which may possibly be staining his underside. It is the same color, as is the branch he hangs out on. This is where I am confused. I havent seen any good pictures of the early stages of redleg.

Could someone post some, or possibly link me to some. Or maybe give me some good links on treatment/diagnosis.

He is one of my fav pets right now, and I don't wanna loose him!

You know, I'm not expert but all my frogs have redish undersides/under legs. It's especially visible when light is above them and I just think it's their blood through translucent skin. I could be completely wrong, and all three of my frogs may have red leg (different cages) but they've been living happily for months. Someone reply because it sounds like I have the same thing you have and I relaly hope it isn't red leg.
