why can't we all just get along

We have two female beardies. One is 2 years old, the other probably a little younger (we rescued her after she was mauled by a larger lizard at a pet store). They have been living separately but we would like to put them together in one large enclosure. We've tried introducing them a couple times in neutral territory (a reptarium) but they strike at each other (no blood yet) and puff out their beards looking very scary. Any suggestions? Will this work?

Probably not, beardies are solitary animals and really don't like each other even if some will tolerate it. Sometimes you can get away with 2 females but not always and this sounds like one of those cases. Better just to leave them separate.

This has been addressed many times in this forum. Please don't do it. It is stressful at least and could be deadly at worst.

this is one of those, DO NOT DO IT, type of things. It is dangerous and I do not like hearing about poor little beardies being attacked my each other because of thye owners mistake.

if they are fighting dont risk it, ive had beardies kill others, right now i have 5 i can mix and match however i like and no fights (they all grew up with other beardies), but i have to watch other things like who is eatting all the food, one of the girls will dominate the food and so then the other girls get thin, i now have to take her out to feed worms (not such a pig with green).
better to be safe then sorry, they are just as much fun if they live together or not!

It's up to you. They may work it out and they may not. Keeping animals in groups/pairs just makes things more complicated. You have more to manage as a keeper if you choose to put your animals together. Beardies are kept successfully by themselves and in groups. How you want to keep yours is up to you. You will enjoy/or not the benefits and consequences of both scenarios.

Good luck,

Ian
