My tank is really large!
I can stand on a box and pop my head over the top and still have to zoom in the EIGHT feet to the far side of my tank.
I have taken picts thru the glass, and it works just fine if the glass is not dirty and your camera focuses on the subject and not the glass.

Ok, but i does your cam have a 10x optical zoom ? mine only have a 3x. Also, my glass are a bit dirty, i have a major clean up to do in my collared tank.

Usually if you zoom through glass it won't impede your pictures.
You MAY get a problem with the flash though!
