Heres a pic of our ringer. He's actually a double ringer but you can only see 1 in this pic. Hope you get the idea.

So what does that mean? Is it genetic? Even if it is genetic it seems like no big deal.

Ringers aren't a big deal. Just an anomaly that hasn't been figured out yet. Many breeders aren't wasting their time on it simply because ringers aren't such eye candies nor will it produce "super forms" when bred together... they're not even a proven morph yet. Just my opinion... no offense to the ringer fans.

Ralph Davis said he proved them genetic, but not much has been done with them. Some breeders in Europe think that they have something to do with Piebalds, and here in the US some breeders see Ringers happen more with Hets for Piebalds. I have asked as many top ball breeders as I can, and they all say Hold on to them, You don't see many for sale. I have a pair in my collection, and until they say for sure I am holding on to them. At one time they thought Piebalds where just a genetic fluke, and then they found out otherwise. Here is a pic of one of my Ringers, also there seems to be different kinds of ringers, Bullseyes, ect. ect. Good luck..

On mine, and most ringers, just above where the vent is, around that area there will be a white area, and just like piebalds, babies the white area is bordered by orange wash, and sometimes hte white area creeps up from the bottom up the sides. If you go to Ralph Davis Reptiles, he has some pics of his ringers, those are patches of white, almost bleached look. So far there are several kinds I have noticed. In this pic you can see the section of white near the tail.
