Good News, I think.

Doug emailed me and told me that he was sorry for my loss. He's working on CB saharans right now and that if I wanted one this summer or next summer that he'd give one to me for the price of shipping.

Don't know if I want to go through losing another one again. It is nice of him to do so though.

I also may be getting a job as an Air Traffic Controller, but I might have to give up schooling for this semester. I'd be making $125,000-$150,000 a year which is good because I could buy a nice house and get new setups for everyone (bigger is better).

It's ashame you'll be giving up your career in law enforcement, but Air Traffic Control sounds interesting although it tends to be stressful.

It's supposed to be the top stress job there is, followed closely by New York cab driver.

Maybe by next summer you'll have had a chance to settle emotionally and be able to decide clearly if you want to try Saharans again. It's been frustrating and sad for so many Saharan owners recently. Let us know what you decide!

I wouldn't be completely giving up on my career in Law Enforcement, just putting it on hold for a year or two to save up money so I will not have to take out loans of any sort (althought I've gone to college for free for the past year).

I'd drop out this semester if I knew I could get a job. Then in 2006 I'd go back to school part time and finish my degree.

Also, police officer is number 1 job that makes you suicidal. Its cop, air traffic controller, dentisit, cab driver.

Police officer is one of the most dangerous jobs (#1 most dangerous is Alaskan king crab fisherman) but as for most stressful, it is air traffic controller. Seldom do they stay in that job for longer than 5 years.
Good luck with it though, the rate of pay is excellent.

It is stressful I give you that, but being shot at every day makes you sort of crazy and therefore makes you become more suicidal than any thing else.

My question is this, how is being a dentist make you crazy enough to kill yourself? All you do is clean teeth.

I've worked for Dentists for over 13 years now. What is so stressful is that everyone hates you! 8 out of 10 patients that come in say "I really hate coming to the Dentist!" Most people over 30 have had horrible experiences at some time or other at the Dentist, and are afraid and mistrusting. So a good deal of the time spent is trying to win over their confidence and trust. If you don't have a good personal life outside of your business (as a Dentist), it can be extremely stressful.
So a good hobby, like keeping reptiles, is a wonderful stress-reliever!

My brother has had a horrible experience. When he was younger (while he had baby teeth) he had about 3 that needed to be pulled (no laughing gas, nothing) so the dentist pulled those three then proceeded to pull about 4 more also so my brother got 7 teeth pulled at once without being told why.

He doesn't like dentists unless they explain step by step what they are going to do and to what tooth.
