New Womas (pics)

Chance Jan 23, 2005 11:10 AM

I just received these beauties late Friday night/early Saturday morning from Matthew Wright in Texas. I've been wanting to work with woma pythons for a very long time, and when I got the chance, I took it. Besides, I traded two huge eaters (an 8' and 11' retic) for these little cuties. Matthew told me they had been amorous with each other the past week or so, and bam, they went right at it as soon as they were placed together again. So much for womas being a secretive breeder. The male will even try to combat my hand (as seen in the first photo). I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy keeping these snakes. Enjoy the pics.

Congrats Chance, I love my Womas[though they are not getting busy like I had hoped] and would've traded those larger snakes for the Womas in a second. My Womas are in my office[at home] and the rest of my collection is in my garage snake room. I never tire of looking at the Womas, they're great snakes to keep. Keep us posted on them, hope you get some eggs! Tom Stevens

John, good luck with the BH acquisition. They certainly are neat snakes, though I think I like the womas better (I may be a bit biased though right now...heh).

Tom, sorry to hear your woma breeding plans aren't working out. Maybe they will pick up. I know what you mean though about them being great display animals. I've given mine a hide, but they rarely use it. They are always out running around the cage...or breeding... And don't worry, if I am fortunate enough to get eggs, then get babies, you'll probably get tired of the pics
