We took our dragon out of her cage today to let her run around a bit. When we went to pick her up she flared her beard out and started whipping her tail. What would cause this type of behavior all of a sudden?

Was this the first time that you let it out o the cage to run around? If so your dragon might just not be used to the new environment. It could've been a little nervous, and with a huge creature coming at it from above, probly a little scary for the little guy, so he just did wut was natural and defended himself.

She's a little over 2 years old and has been out and about on many occassions. She's used to being held and everything so I'm not sure what's caused it.
Because shes not a wild animal. shes not used to being out of her cage and she probably felt very vunarable and threatened.
