Has anyone heard of an "ocelot ball" or a "Carpet Ball"?

Bubasti Jan 23, 2005 02:38 PM

At last year's Daytona show I saw two "Ocelot balls" and realised that a hatchling that I had selected for its strange pattern resembled the snakes at the show. Does anyone have any pics of ocelot balls? I was wondering about carpet balls 'cause I think I might have one of those as well. I will post pics soon, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanx!

Get a hold of Mark or Damian at D&M Breeders they should be able to help you figure out if you actually have an Ocelot Ball.

And I'm not 100% sure about this but I think a "Carpet Ball" is actually a hybrid between a Carpet python and a Ball Python. Could be wrong...but from the name it makes sense.

The Carpet Ball is an animal that Stephan at MS in Germany has for sale. He calls is a "Carpet Ball" because of the pattern and the way it looks. It resembles a carpet Python in appearance but is not a Hybrid. There have never been any hybrids of a Ball Python and a carpet Python.

Thanks Rob, I was aware of the animal Stephan has been trying to sell and figured it wasn't a hybrid, but I wasn't sure if anyone else had actually crossed the two.
