Anyone have Pics of Larry Keller's line of Boas???

DavidKendrick Jan 23, 2005 08:45 PM

I purchased a trio last year from Larry Keller, from Prarie land herps, I sold a pair and kept one of the females. I was wondering if other people had gotten any of his boas, and if you had any pics of them. If anyone knows him it would be neat to have him post some pics of his breeders, and offspring. I will keep my eyes open for when he has more to sell. Here is a pic of the female I held on too. wish I would have kept all three. LOL

This is my male I picked up from Larry this past late summer. He is one good looking red BCI! He is doing well. Wish I had picked up a female now! Thanx for looking!

I too wish I had picked up a couple more from him, I wish I could get ahold of him, I erased his e-mail address by accident, it would be really cool if he posted on here, and updated us on when he is planning on having more for sale. Thanks for the pic, thats one hell of boa, Love that stripe.

just do a google for Prarieland Herps. The adults are every bit that nice as well.I believe that those offspring are decendants of several babies that I sold Larry about 15 years ago.We went through a beautiful litter from my nicest animals and he picked out a bunch of the best, including a bunch with insane striping. At that time I was too damned dumb to realize it was genetic.LOL.

Here is a pair I picked up a couple of months ago. I have posted these before.

I did see those a while back, those have to be some of the nicest I have seen, SO CLEAN, SO LIGHT, Can't wait to see if he has any like those for sale in the future, or if you will have some offspring. Are you planning on breeding them? Thanks for the pic, those are the best...

Larry Keller has been at the Daytona show each year I have gone and always seems to have a few clutches he produced. His table is not the largest, his display is not the largest, but no matter what year it is I always hear people talking about his animals if for nothing else being extremly clean and nice looking.

Well I had a chance to look two years back in Daytona and I was very surprised with what I found. (Actaully a good friend found them and then told me about them, AFTER he got his pick of course.) Larry was selling his normal animals that looked very much like JUNGLES! (Larry was selling as normals only) Larry said he has bred the same pair(s) for years and gets many with the same markings. Problem is, he has never held back siblings and bred them back to see what he gets. That is where I come in. I purchased a few that resemble the Jungle.

To me, and others who ARE PRODUCING THE ACTUAL JUNGLES they appeared very much like the jungle boas being sold today. Of course, there appears to be no connection to the Sweedish line of jungle, but only time will tell if they will infact pass on the genes to the siblings in a cleaner, super jungle sort of way.

I have not posted on this since I have purchased them because the Jungle posts were pretty ugly in the start. Everyone yelling back and forth saying this is and this is not a jungle etc. So I have been feeding and cleaning and waiting... I have 2.2 and 05 is the year I will put them together.

I will say again.. I am NOT looking to start a war on are these or are they not... I will breed them this year and tell for myself, and even if they DO have something that resembles what are being called Super Jungles, I understand this is another line and NOT JUNGLES.

With that said, here are a few old pics I have and they are pretty dark as well. However you can see what I mean when I say they look very junglish. Again, one of the major JUNGLE breeders held these animals and inspected them each for signs and was very impressed. Only time will tell what if anything they hold gene wise.

Rest of them are here:

I am crossing my fingers for ya, Hope they prove out, He seems to always have super nice boas, and he sells them for CHEAP!! I said it before, when I got mine he sold them to me in a trio for a super price, and then all the Pastel craze started and to me he has what are called pastels, but yet he has really good prices on them. It would be great to actually meet him in person. Good Luck and keep us posted on what happens with your. Thanks for the pic...
