egg?

i read recently that females can lay eggs w/out being mated.my dixie was 64g, less then a week ago. her belly is still big, she is not eating though.could she have been preparing to lay eggs 4 the 1st time. she s 8 months. i know females are not eady to breed untill 1/2 yrs but could she still lay infertile eggs in her first yr?
