Need recommendation for a heater & filter

toaster529 Jan 23, 2005 09:41 PM

...for a 300 gallon indoor pond/enclosure. The large plastic type you get at the home improvement store. Sorry for the duplicate post. It appears you cannot search this forum specific to only the crocodilian section anymore. Kept getting a bunch or results for box turtles and other, much smaller, setups.

Thanks a bunch.

i have found that the titanium heaters are the best. you can select different watts for the heat required. it is also best to get something larger than needed so not to stress the heater. it will last longer. small pond pumps and filtration systems from a landscape supply house or irrigation house work real well. i have 9 spec caiman in one pond and run the filter twice a week for about 2 hours each...their water is perfectly clear...700 gallons during the winter is their pond. good luck
to see my caimans and some of the set ups i have had, go to my site.
