Taking pics

razordance Jan 24, 2005 12:43 AM

Just wondering how everyone gets such good pics of their snakes... I've got plenty of good iguana pics, but I have been unable to get a pic of our ball python that I'm happy with. The main problems seem to be the constant movement, and the fact that she tends to come to me to see what I'm up to. Also, I find that snakes tend to shine in a way I don't like when photographed with a flash, but without a flash it makes the movement thing more of a problem. Any advice?

Those look like Burmese pythons, Python molurus. The long term implications are quite significant if they are.

Those snakes belong to a friend who breeds them, and they are burms... He was trying to sell them to me and I would have taken them if I thought I had room for them when they get a little older... Cute little guys, aren't they?

Funny, I knew as soon as I posted that someone would mention the pic. I finally got a decent pic of her, not amazing, but good enough to post, and definitely good enough to see she's not a burm. ) Thanks for the post, one of my life's irritations is people who buy animals without knowing what they are or what they'll turn into...
