Hypo boa?

erikm Jul 05, 2003 04:44 PM

What do you guys think of this boa? It is an adult female, 7 feet long, and it is for sale as a "hypo"

Any opinions? I kinda think it looks more normal than hypo myself.

The overly orange saddles have the same look as the Nicaraguan Hypo Boas. It may be a genetic thing of reduced black, which would make it a Hypo, just not the common Salmon or Orange tail Phase commonly seen. I would want more info on her to know for sure, may very well come from Nic Hypo Stock.
thanks
Jim

It does have very light saddles, but the tail just looks too dark in my opinion. I was looking for hypo female to breed to my male albino. However I am not sure this is the right one that for.

Well, maybe not the widely accepted version of a hypo, but this snake is certainly displaying a reduction in black pigment, a.k.a hypomelanistic. Pretty snake for that size, regardless.
