If i supplement dust the crickets and meal worms, do i still need to provide a bowl in the tank with calcium powder?

It is good to have a bowl with the supplement in the tank at all times because the leos can regulate their intake as they need it. Dusting (once a week for adults, every other feeding for babies) ensures that the leo is getting enough vitamins/minerals; dusting is important for young leos especially because alot of times they will not regulate it themselves like adults will.

Should i keep a shallow bowl of dusted mealworms inside the tank at all times? And then just put 5 dusted crickets or so in the tank every other day? Thanks
Rob Woods
Cleo's answer is right, let me just elaborate on what you are asking now. Yes you can do what you said. If it is eating mealworms, you don't have to feed the crix if you don't want. If you want to try a supp. that takes the guesswork out of how much and how often, t-rex has a new product for leopard geckos. It is called Insect cricket balancer. The formulation was actually was actually done at Sandfire Dragon Ranch and is distributed by t-rex. It is all you need in the mealworm bowl and you can dust your crix with it also. It was formulated to use at every feeding if you wish, without fear of overuse. I have been using it and the insect gutload for a good part of this season, and love the stuff. Right now I think it is easiest found at petco.
Good luck

What kind of calcium should i be using for the calcium bowl in teh tank? Will petsmart or some other store sell the right kind of calcium?
Rob Woods
I use RepCal calcium without D3 and supplement my leos with Walkabout Farm's gecko dust. Their web site address is www.herpnutrition.com if you are interested in looking at their products. You can only get it directly through them.
Good products also... I was using the low d3 blend until I switched to the Superfoods formulation. I still use it for some of my cresteds.

You want one with d3...Minerall I, rep-cal(pink label) or the supp. I told you about Sandfire Superfoods Leopard gecko distributed by t-rex. I think you should find at least 2 of those at petco or petsmart. If not tell us what they do have at your local petstore.
good luck
