SK Axanthic line ----- Who does it come from?

fshrman Jan 24, 2005 02:04 PM

Hey, I was just wondering who the SK Axanthic line came from? Is it a good line? Just curious.

My understanding is that the "SK" Axanthic is SK's (Snake Keepers) own line of Axanthics. Check out their web site: http://ballpython.com

And the SK line throws some of the whitest snows I have ever seen, despite what most people will tell you here.

This is a picture of dad and his son.
Dad is a 2000 SK male
Son a 2003 SK male.
Notice how much lighter that son is.
They seem to vary like pieds, albinos, and other ball morphs. I will take some pictures when it is a sunny day. This was taken tonight with a Mavica. Still a great photo of difference. This will be a sleeper morph in a few years.

It's unfortunate that they look nothing more than 'Normal' when they get older and the price tag attached to them is ridiculous for a silver snake that turns normal! imho they are only good for crossing into other morphs.

BPMachine Jan 25, 2005 06:27 PM

And thats a bad thing??

wileewilly Jan 26, 2005 12:38 AM

Not if your a breeder no! But if someone buy's a beautiful silver and black hatchling for a pet only for it to 'brown' out, then if I was that buyer I would feel a little cheated.

Ballboutique Jan 25, 2005 06:41 PM

If they look "normal" then you are looking at axanthics and calling them normal.

Sorry maybe I'm reading your post wrong, but does that mean that all my normals at home that I look at and call 'normal' are actually axanthics? Holy Sh1t I wish I new this earlier
