Ok, I’m not an expert by any means, but when I first got my adult male he slowly stopped eating. I tried everything including using nectar to mix his CGD, but he just wasn’t interested. I then remembered reading that mango had been used by someone in Rhacodactylus The Complete Guide to their Selection and Care By Philippe de Vosjoli, Frank Fast, and Allen Repashy. It took me awhile to find some, but I got mango babyfood. Figured it couldn’t hurt, I had tried everything else. He loved it and to my knowledge he had never had it before. I don’t give it to him exclusively now, once his appetite was stimulated he started eating normally, but I do add a little touch of it to his CGD when he seems to be reluctant to eat any crickets.

Also you said that he came with a female. Were they a pair housed together before you purchased them? If they are together now (or if he’s with other cresties), could they be keeping him from the food?

He came with a female. She is larger than he is but seems good. Im guessing they were housed together becuase I bought them together as a pair and they were in the same large deli cup. Ive tried mango baby food with other foods mixed in so maybe ill go get some Mango today. Thanks so much. He looked fatter when I checked on him thismorning so maybe he just hadn't been hungry. Is a 7 inch crested ready to breed?

Can't help ya there. I've never bred any kind of animal on purpose before. I know that just about everything I've read says that a female crested tends to accept males that are of the same size, so I would image that a male could breed at anytime if the female will allow it. Personally, I wouldn't breed an egg laying animal until I was sure the female was fully grown. Egg produceing takes alot out of the mother and if they're not done growning themselves it can do some major damage that can't be corrected. I've seen quite a few lizards through rescue work that had bone problems because they were bred too young and the babies weren't in much better condition.
