lights, time, power outage - poor Luna! Q??

lele Jan 24, 2005 07:14 PM

We had 2 power outages today. one from 5a.m.-11:30a.m then again from 5pm-7pm

In a nutshell what this boiled down to is that Luna slept (keeping her in the dark - literally - I put her in her travel box with heat packs) until nearly noon. Then she went about her day, basking, eating and just hangin' out. When the power went out this evening I figured it would just be an early night (her typical hours are 7 a.m.-6 p.m. in the winter). Well, when the power came back on I had forgotten that the timers had stopped and all her lights were glaring when I checked on everyone at 7:30! I expected her to be sleepy in a corner but found her under her basking light and pooping! I am just wondering how much something like this will mess with her bio-clock. Granted, it doesn't happen every day but we were both confused! I let her bask for a bit (b/c of the need to poop), then turned off the basking light and 15 minutes later turned off her other lights.

should I ger her up early tomorrow or just go back to normal?

thanks,
lele

she shouldn't change if you think about your nh weather (not latly though hehe) but it can get very dark for entire days when it rains although not pitch black...im sure it gets dark in normal SaudiArabian storms too. i doubt that one day with a few hours of irregular lights with make her confused...

.but then agian it is luna.

Right, we can always tell when Luna is NOT gravid...lele comes up with really bizarre things to worry about instead! Just kidding, emoticons intended.

You know...I was actually thinking the same thing - a little obsessive am I??? If it wasn't the power outage I'd be worrying about the fact that she pooped twice and farted yesterday! - out loud! and I thought she was a lady

lele and tootin' Luna!!

Oh now that is hard to believe lele!I've heard my dog, my bird, and even my snake toot, but never a cham. Are you sure it wasn't just low frequency vibrations and hoping a nice male would appear for this egg cycle?

swear to it! she did it again yesterday when I was setting up her dripper! She has been pigging out lately (she is up to 88g! I am backing off on food now that hse is doing OK) and, like any piggy little being, she got gassy! LOL!!

eggs!! - don't mention eggs!! No more until spring - I hope!
