This is one of my Eastern Kings that was produced by a local breeder from N.C. stock. A little too much flash in the pic, but you get the idea.

like those clean, thin bands, too! Good classic chain pattern. Thanks for the pic! How old and big is he/she?
Zee
Thanks! I am not sure how old she is but I could probably find out. I have had her for a year now. She is around 3' long at this point. The good news is I have a mate for her from the same locale. I plan on breeding them in 06.
Keith, the locality is Iredell county N.C. My male (yearling) is in a shed phase. I should be able to take some pics of him later in the week. He is a bit smaller and probably a year younger than my female, but I think they may be ready to go in 06. He is catching up fast and is probably close to 30".
Phil
Very nice Eastern. Love the thin chain pattern. I have two North Carolina locality animals myself. Thanks for the pic.
Steve
Thanks Steve. For my taste, I think the N.C. getula are as good as it gets. I like the thin cross bars and clean chain pattern many specimens from that locale have. Any pics of yours?
Here you go Phil. This is my Wayne county NC. Eastern. 04 female.

Here is my 04 male Outer Banks Kingsnake. Hatteras Island, NC. locality. As you can see this boy is getting some nice speckling on the dorsal area already at a very young age. Very aggressive feeder. I'm like you Phil, I'm a big fan of North American Colubrids in their natural form. My wife's more of the Albino, bright colors type of snake lover. I love them also, but the normal/wild type are without a doubt my favorite.
Steve

That snake is awesome Steve! I love those Outer Banks kings. I had an opportunity to see some adults for the first time in Daytona at the breeders expo back in 98 I think. Anyhow, I was overwhelmed. Beautiful snakes with an interesting range.
Thats a great looking eastern Steve. Honestly, the more N.C. kings I see the more I like. It seems they have a tendency to have that classic look and most appear to be very clean well marked snakes.
