Who else is working on a Thayeri that shows no black at all?
I hope to have one soon with this girl. Next year....not soon enough.

She too has the reduced black.

.....with some reduced black.
Next year I will breed my two females to a sibling brother. Then this guy will have his turn producing some no black Thayeri the following year.
Thanks for looking,
John Lassiter
I have a pair that I think will produce some very low black in 2006. I think you have seen this picture, and I hope you don't get tired of it!
This the female... she doesn't have much black at all... only some scales here and there.

'04 from the Bodners. He has very little balck for a milksnake... hopefully that trait near his head where there is no black will move on down the backs of the offspring. The first three bands on this one don't have any black.

Tom,
Those are excellent examples of reduced black Thayeri. I would love to see a top view of that Leonis phase. Also, were did you get it from or did you produce it?
I never get tired of looking at Mexicana ssp. snakes.
Great Thayeri Tom. Are you breeding any this year?
John Lassiter
hey John,
Those are both from the Bodner's. The female (leonis) is an '03 and the male (milksnake) is an '04. The female could probably produce next year, but I am going to wait until '06. Nope, no thayeri next year... only alterna (generic and Loma Alta), knobs, and calis... and I will probably breed my speckled female too.
I love those thayeri though. I got into them relatively recently, and now have a young 2.3 breeding group consisting of some excellent animals from the Bodners, Dan Vermilya, and Russ Bates.
I will get a top view and a ventral shot of the female for you. The ventral is pretty wild. Orange and patternless.
She is most likely a half-sibling of the ones you got from Chris and Mike... but we could probably just ask Chris. He would proboly remember.
Here is a pic of our orange '02 from Vermilya. Not as low in the black department, but is still a looker! His colors are intense, and he never darkened up or tipped like some of them do.
Tom Anderson

WOW!! Tom
That is a looker. I got a pair like that from VIVID but they have some speckling.
John Lassiter
Here is one pair I am breeding this year.
