clio Jan 25, 2005 07:01 AM

i have had my hoggy since sep 04 she has grown a lot. a few weeks ago she went pale and her eyes went misty like she was going to shed. a few days later her colour and eyes went back to normal but there was no sign of her skin anywhere, do hoggs eat their skin???

I haven't heard of hogs eating there skin but i'm not an expert. when snakes shed the turn blue for a few days then clear up for a few then they shed. she might not have shed yet.

All snakes "clear" for a couple days before their shed, its normal, she will shed soon

Hognoses are different from other colubrids in many ways, one is that they seem to take an exceptionally longer time to shed. Give it time.
