Where are the pepper morphs?

Rhacophile Jan 25, 2005 03:20 PM

Have you ever noticed the crested in the Rhap book that's labled a pepper. Well I don't really think I've ever seen one for sale. Maybe I'm just blind but really who offers these cresteds or at least owns some. Here's a old pic of one of mine.

This is one of my orange peppered females. I paired her up with my red male. I cant wait to see what the babies look like.

I was just looking at that one again the other day...that's a good looking gecko. The photo was taken by David Northcott, so I'm going to assume that it's his gecko. Then again, it could be one of Allen's, as a majority of the ciliatus in the book belong to him. The caption calls it unusual and says that the peppered morph may become established in the future, so I'm guessing there aren't many around. I've been watching for one to pop up, but so far I haven't seen another one quite like it.

David Northcott is actually a herp photographer. The geckos with his photo credits in the book are either in Allen's or Phillipe's collection.

I knew Northcott was a professional photographer, but I didn't sure if he had any animals or not.

I suppose I could just ask Allen about that gecko tomorrow.
