I guess I am going to adopt a water dragon..

Tor038505 Jan 25, 2005 04:08 PM

My dad has had his female water dragon for about 8 months now. He's real busy and going thru alot so he doesn't have time to take care of her, I didn't know this until i went over the other day. Two of her claws are missing on her front right leg, she has a lump(i'm thinking gout) right above her back right leg. her lips were sealed shut pretty much, it was in the back. I thought it was crickets, the crickets that he feeds her are red, but I think it might be a scab or something. Also, on the left side of her mouth, looking from the back, it looks like her lip is expanding. She also has an upper respritory infection, because her mouth is always open. I'm going to get her probably today and I'll have alot of work to do.

They tend to mash their faces against glass, which might cause the scabbing that you see. If you look at my last post, I just got a wd that had the same thing. A vet can prescribe an ointment to put on their snouts thats developed originally for burn patients.

Well, i was thinking that maybe it was from the glass. But my dad has her in one of those mesh habitats.

They will rub on screen or mesh just as bad, and the mesh can do even more damage since it is a lot rougher.
