Some tortoises just don't seem to like it. I haven't found many but I have found some. Keep in mind that it is not a necessity but it does make life easy so you can focus on other things.

If you really want the tortoise to eat it, offer a tiny bit once a week and be patient. I have an egyptian hatchling who used to love the stuff. It provided the greatest development I've ever seen in a hatchling Egyptian. One day... it just stopped eating it. I still offer it but as of this date it will not touch the stuff.

The rest of the guys I limit it to once or twice a week. There's no problem there.

I have a pancake hatchling that wouldn't touch it for months. Once he tried it, it's his favorite food.

try soaking the pellet in juice. Most tortoies will rellish this. Once they develop the taste for the food simply switch back over to water and you should be set. Otherwise time in always a good answer. Best of luck.

He's trying to tell you something. Why do you want to derail his instincts that were given to him by millions of years of evolution?
