Hello,
Most of my bulls seem to be irrited a lot at first, and then some will settle down but others i have or had (a few definitely come to mind) are always upset and will strike open mouthed and ready, lol. My hognose are all really calm now, they were a little nippy at first and would strike with mouths closed too. I have a few Sonorans that are always ready to bite too, but for the most part my Sonorans are great to handle and very calm. I love the Ghosts, Blizzards, Hypos and Sunglows not only for the colors, but also for the wondeful temperaments! I have noticed with my AZ Green Rats, triaspis, that the females seem to be very aggressive and will bite if given any chance, but all the males i have and had are calm and have never bitten. I do however have a new female that is fairly calm, which makes me happy to know that not all the females i get will bite all the time. The bulls and Sonorans seem to be more bloodline related as far as attitude then by the gender (just from what i've kept, and that is not too many, so this is all just what i've noticed here). Of course i don't think the triaspis, or any snake for that matter, can be predicted by gender or blood lines, etc as far as attitude goes, but it does seem to lean certain ways with certain strains. I believe Jason has some Rusty Sonorans, that like my own, are almost always upset. Good luck with those hogs and bulls, great snakes to work with! Hey Dan, are you heading to the Hamburg show next month by chance?
Have a good day, and thanks for posting your experiences with the hogs and bulls.

>>I love to hear stories about Bullsnakes and hognose. They can be so funny at times with all their bluffing! (of course, some bullsnakes are not all bluff like msot hognose!) My Hypo Bullsnake usually is as calm as can be, but somedays he will huff and puff, and "rattle" with the best of them! He is most always mad when he is being taken out of his feeding box, and is he is not hungry, he will make mock strikes at the rat until you get it out and will stay mad until he gets out of the feeding box. Thats how he strikes, like a hognose with his mouth closed! Hasnt actually mouth open struck yet, but that doesnt mean he never will! It is pretty cute, but I try not to get him too worked up. It seems all Bulls and Hoggies are individualists when it comes to bluffing, but one things for sure, they are moody, just like their keepers, which is why I like them so much! Thanks everyone!!!!!
