Bull snake behavior question

dingoblue Jan 26, 2005 06:43 AM

Hey Everyone,

My 02 bull snake is acting differently than normal. He is not eaten for several weeks, and is abrading his rostral and head scales by rubbing them on the floor of his 55 gal aquarium. He exhibited the same behavior in the previous year while being kept in a plastic sweaterbox, in the same location. Neosporin works well, but he won't cease scuffing his head scales.

Could he be looking for a mate?

What else can I do to help alleviate any stresses on him so that he will return to his normal behavior or slamming frozen thawed rodents and hiding under his hide boxes in his cage?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Neil
