BCC vs. BCI

Niko8 Jan 26, 2005 10:45 AM

I have an eighteen month, four-foot Peruvian red-tail boa. I want to buy an older, larger salmon female. Can I breed a BCC with a BCI? I heard that it is possible because they are different sub species, but that it is not recommended because it creates a "mut." Also, is it really that risky to breed my male to a three year old, five foot female?
Thanks
Niko

I have it in a 4*2*2. They can be finicky eaters as babies, but mine has not had any problems. I keep it 90 on one side and 80 on the other side during the day and around 78 at night. Im feeding mine a large, live mouse every week. Mine is really tame, but he used to be snappy when I didn't handle him as much. Males are supposed to get 5-8 feet and females 6-9 feet. It is rare to get one over 10 feet, but the record for a boa constrictor, I heard, was 18 feet (questionable).
