Accidentally have 10 Tree Frogs!!!!

RaverTanker Jan 26, 2005 03:38 PM

Okay, I accidentally got shipped 10 tree frogs instead of Anoles, so I figured you guys over here at the TF forum could help me out a bit. I have to house them at least until I can give them to a pet store or get them mailed to who ought to have them. So, I put about half an inch of water throughout this 10 gallon tank to keep humidity, with a few suction leafy vines attached to the inner wall and I put a 75 watt Exo-Terra heat lamp aiming at the wateriest part to make humidity. (they all seem to be on and in the leaves and in the opposite corner of the lamp) I know these guys like it a little cooler than anoles, so what else can anyone tell me. I am only keeping them for 1-3 days at the most. Don't want them going into shock though, they just came through the mail mind you. Any info, thanks a billion!

Can you tell what kind of tree frog they are? You should have some substrate, even wet paper towels, if you don't have shredded coconut fiber. If it's only for 1 - 3 days though, whatever habitat they're in probably won't be much worse than how they're kept in pet stores. As long as they have a thermal gradient and won't drown if they hop along the bottom then they shouldn't go into shock or die (unless they're skinny and die from starvation).
Just find good homes for them soon
Good luck!

No no, I have a 40 gallon also and I was only going to keep 5 anoles in that and give the rest away. Thank you all for input.
