...or do I just take it all the wrong way? Periodically I recognize a news flash with "W von Papineäu" as the originator of the post. It seems to me that these posts have nothing but negativity toward snake keepers. I could be wrong, I'm not certain I'e ever read through to the end of any of them.

Just curious...they seem like the enemy to me. (Enemy meaning those who would like to ban reptiles from resonsible captivity).

I have always enjoyed his posts. I think you may be taking it wrong. I have always taken it as he is taking time to post "reptiles in the news." I enjoy reading them. Sometimes they are frustrating. But, that is how our animals are perceived by most unfortunately.

He's been a contributor to publications for a long time with anything dealing with reptiles. He just happens to post them here as well. He posts what's in the news, good or bad. If he didn't post the stories he did, many of us would never hear of them. Take care

...Wes is one of the good guys. He has been posting links to reptiles in the news and wrote a "reptiles in the news" column in one of the magazines several years ago. Unfortunately when reptiles make the news it is often a negative story. Either idiots who dislike reptiles or other idiots making serious mistakes keeping reptiles. I believe Wes is an Officer in the Canadian military.

I think he posted a story about a python saving some people when the Tsunami hit.

I think his posts are great and in fact search them out. All he does is post herp related news articles from around the US and Canada. Most of us would never see these articles without his help. His forum is "Herpetological News". If he has an article that would be of particular interest to a another forum he posts it there, otherwise it is in his own.
