Just wanted to run this by all of you. a couple of days ago I was holding my juvinile corn snake while my mom was cooking dinner. and there was a peice of warm but raw hamburger that had fell on the stove. so jokingly I picked it up and rolled it up into a pinkey size ball and put my snake up to it to see what he would do. as soon as his nose hit the peice of meat he grabbed it and ate it. didnt really think he would. But he did. Now does any one out there know if this would hurt him or not? or if one could actually feed there snake raw meat like this instead of rodents???

Intresting, never heard of that at all. I have no idea if it would hurt my any means but would be intrested to know what kind of reaction your snake has to it. Also, what kind of stool comes after. Keep us posted please, just to fill my own curiosity.

It wouldn't be good as a steady diet unless you mixed vitamins into it and roughage such as bone meal.. etc... Snakes get their vitamins and minerals from the gut content and the various organs of their prey. Feeding them just ground hamburger wouldn't give them the proper nutrients and fat content. You'd wind up with a snake with vitamin deficiencies. It won't hurt him as something occassional.. but as a steady diet its definately a no no.

yeah, thats kind of what i figured. But i was just wondering if it would hurt him at all mainly.He is acting fine eating drinking and deficating normally. Thanks for the input.
