Can anyone recommend a variety of tegu that would best for someone looking for an animal that stays in about the 3 foot range and has a very nice personality? Thanks for looking.

Male tegus tend to be bigger then 3 feet. You might look at blue tegus the males get to about 3 1/2 feet. Gold or Columbian tegus males also get to 3 1/2 feet but tend to be slightly more aggressive then blues. Chilean dwarf tegus will stay under 2 feet.

Hi there! Rollin is right on regarding the sizes mentioned. Female blues rarely exceed 3'. Blues would also be your best bet regarding temperaments as well.
