Is it possible because they have the same habitat reqirements and both come from New Caledonia?
Would they fight it introduced into cage at very young age?

In "Rhacodactylus: The Complete Guide to their Selection and Care" the authors mention co-habitation is possible with members of Rhacodactylus. As long as your enclosure is large enough and the size difference between your Gargoyle and Crested doesn't become too great, things should be fine.

I would not recommend keeping cresties with the gargoyles. Gargs are pretty aggressive. You're crested would probably be tailless within an hour.
See, Ive heard good and bad from all types of places, different forums and other website. I don't know what to do. My roommate is hellbent on putting the two together, we are heading out to the retile swap this weekend to pick up new babies. We set up the tank last nite and it looks pimp. I told him to just get a couple crested but he wont listen. I dont want them to be stressed or tailess. Has anybody done this before? Did it work out? They have plenty of room together.
Do u segguest a male and female, or two females. Is one more territorial than the other?
Help appreciated..
Most gargoyle breeders don't even keep young gargoyles together because they have a habit of biting eachother's tails off. . . as the other posters have said, gargoyles are much more aggressive then cresteds. Mixing may be a risk, especially to tails
.
Have a good one and good luck!
Chris
I learned the hard way.. a couple years ago I housed the two species together in a 29g tall (both species were juvies). My crested's tail went missing after 3 days. I turned the tank upside down trying to figure it out....
Then I discovered Anthony Caponetto's page on gargs... and learned that they do infact eat tails! Mystery solved.
Thus - I do not recommend housing the two together.. no matter how large the environment. It's not worth the risk... esp when you know it 'may' happen.
