Update On the Beardie That Wouldn't Eat...

vampchick00 Jan 27, 2005 03:31 PM

I've only had my beardie since last Monday (the 17th) and he only ate one meal and was fairly lethargic. Well, today it is Thursday, and im happy to say that slowly, the little guy is eating again! He ate 4 crickets yeaterday, which I know is not a lot at all, but it was SOMETHING...and today, he has eaten 6 so far (I throw them in 3 at a time and check up on him to see if hes eaten any)...so hopefully he will chow down on all the rest of the crickets I have today ;P (unlikely, but a girl can dream)

He has finally gotten used to his baths, and loves it. Definately not the most graceful swimmer, but he tries. He seems in better spirits, and although he still seems a little not right, *knocks wood* I think he is on the up and up. Anxiously waiting for the results from the vet on the feceal sample, and hopefully the little guy will get a clean bill of health *crosses fingers*

Thanks again for all the suggestions and imput. I really do appreciate it.

Christina

Why baths ? IMHO, a bath will stress out your lizard as they have to worry about drowning. A shower is much better because they don't have to worry about drowning. They just sit back and relax in the warm water.

When I say "bath" I simply meant water in the *very* bottom of my tub. I also lay a towel across the bottom so he can grip, and a few rocks and little fake plants to climb on. Don't worry, my tub slopes, and the "deep end" only has about 3 inches of water in it...the "shallow end" only has about a centimeter.

Glad to hear he's doing better. Any word from the vet yet?

Definately glad to hear he is doing better! Hopefully it turns out he was just stressed and from here on in he improves!
