bloating

A.C.3 Jan 27, 2005 04:51 PM

today i went to feed my dragon and i saw him lying on the floor of his cage completely bloated like a baloon. i know bearded dragons poof themselves out when they feel threatened, and of course he's done that before, but this was totally different. i picked him up to see what was going on and he was completely blown up (his beard and even his entire under side, except limbs and tail). it felt like a baloon with scales, and i'm kind of worried about it, so any knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated.

Can you provide a list of what you have been feeding him?

My female and male do that whenever i take them outside, and you're absolutly right that they feel like a balloon with scales. They bloat up liek that when they're threatened by something or in a new environment. Can your dragon see it's own reflection in anything? I wouldn't think it would be somethign to be incredibly worried about. Post again if your dragon keeps doing frequently tho.
