need breeding question help

boaluvr123 Jan 27, 2005 05:32 PM

hello , i recently put my male and female hog island togethr. the male is about 48 inches long , the females 53 inches in length. I did this in the hopes of breeding them. I have not observed copulation , but have seen white splatterings of a substance which was told to me to be sperm. can this mean that my female is pregnant , and what are some other tell tale signs that she is. thanx sooo much.

Hi John,
Sperm production is a great sign that there is breeding activity going on, but far from a sure thing. In order for the female to be pregnat the sperm needs to be inside her LOL (the whole birds and the bees thing)
I have placed a link to an article that Jeff Ronne wrote about 9 years ago in regards to breeding boas, it has lots of great info in it and I think it will help alot
Good Luck
Jeff Ronne's breeding article
