Dropped a medium mouse in there and WOW!

turtlequest Jan 27, 2005 07:35 PM

When i drop fish in the tank, lazy turtle just sits and waits until they swim to him.

Well, I dropped a mouse in the tank and as soon as it hit the water the snapper darted from underneath his log and full speed attacked it. Then held it in his mouth for about a half an hour before eating it. It just swam around the tank really excited.

How often can i feed him mice? It was awesome!

i would lay back on the mice there. mice are not very good being they really got nothing in them. i feed mine a rat pup wonce a month or wonce every 2 months i try and give them more vegis, fish and birds. i try and give them things they would get more of in the wild just being its healthyer for them in the long run.

"mice are not very good being they really got nothing in them."

I think mice are pretty nutritous. I'm not saying others should do this but my common snapper's diet is 75-80% rodents.
