This little girl is taming down quite nicely, she was a bit hissy at first.



I think I decided on naming her Bertha, either that or Breffu, a name from Caribbean history, but that's perhaps a bit too esoteric. She's from CFRB and went through a couple hurricanes, but I didn't like the names of any of them. I was in hurricane Bertha and it's also just a funny name for a small snake. I thought Breffu might be a good name for my dark skinned Caribbian boa because Breffu was the name of a slave woman who was part of the first slave revolt in the new world, Fort Berg St. John. I used to live at the bottom of the hill where it happened. I think it's maybe just too strange of a name considering that I like to take my snakes to reptile club meetings and let kids handle them, I usually choose names the kids like. Which do you prefer?
