good info about genetics

im sure most of you knowlegable posters know most of this info, but i found it pretty informative. it ties together a lot of my random bits of beginer genetic knowledge. hope it helps someone other than me

You can count me in the "helped me out'' group.The page was interesting and does explain it in laymans terms that is easy to understand.

Crested traits dont seem to easilly lend themselves to Dominant and recessive . Some of my babies look like mom some like dad ,some like neither and the next clutch might be reverse of the first.

Ive got a pair of yellow cresteds that dont seem to change a bit ..no difference in day and night colors.Ive ''assumed''it was because the various other colors had been bred out of them and they were basically pure yellow animals. However one of thier babies does for the tiger trait whatAnthony's ''chips''does for the dalmation trait. Its simply spectacular well above and beyond the typical faded lines of a crested ''tiger''.So where did the trait come from? Obviously pure yellow isnt in thier genes .
