Stupid question about zoomed 5.0 bulbs

tanmuscles Jan 27, 2005 10:27 PM

Are the bulbs 1 inch or 1 1/2 inch? I'm trying to buy a fixture, but there are several different sizes that hold those kind of bulbs. Thanks

My 48" Bulbs are 1.5 inches. But i kno that some of the smaller bulbs, like the 18 inch ones are skinnier.

Bring the bulb to the pet store. Or if you havent bought one yet, just fit it into the fixture right in the store. they will let you, well, they should anyway.

most fixtures will have the size bulbs it takes on the box. Most fluorescent for reptiles are either t8 or t12 size bulbs. I know for a fact the Repti-Sun 5.0's 24 inch and larger are all t12 bulbs. The smaller bulbs I do not know as I never bought them. The fixture should say what size bulbs it requires on the box though, but 1.5 inch bulbs would be t12 size.
