FOR HUMIDITY IN THE TANK.....

twilightfade212 Jan 27, 2005 10:33 PM

I posted a shedding question a couple weeks back and was told to put a little tupperware lined with moist paper towels in to give my snake the choice of humidity. I was unclear if I should have that all the time or just during the blue. Thanks to anyone in advance who helps me out.

That works, but for the long term, you might try putting moss in a tupperware. Sphagnum or green moss, sold at plant / garden supply stores, retains moisture for much longer as well as offers a better hiding option. Moist paper towels sometimes will trap neonates if they crawl between wet folds. I leave my moss containers in 24/7/365. I have used moss for over thirty years with a variety of kingsnakes and crotalids and have had no problems. Good luck.
