the adults. Your female was was a normal BCI, but what was dad. I know he was a Salmon, but do you know if he was an F1, F2, etc? I am just wondering because I too am waiting to see if my F3 Salmon male is going to prove to be a super. I still have about 4 weeks to wait. Thanks for taking the time, and once again congrats on the babies!

I am going to post this as a new message also because this has me curious. This is more of a question for you than a answer for you. I bought the Salmon as a possible super, he comes from Jimmy Horton, Texhiss.com, who got him from Rich Ihle...he is 2 years old. I have an unknown bloodline female who produced the babies here. This being my first litter, I am unsure of what Salmons all look like at birth..even normals for that matter. I realize they have to shed and develope their color, but as I was looking them over, one of the babies looks like an anery to me. My female was dark so I just shrugged it off as a undeveloped color on the baby. Then just a while ago I am looking at the babies again, and I took the picture posted here. Do you see a different kind of Salmon in the pic? I am almost thinking a ghost... Is that possible? It is a larger baby so undeveloped colors should not be part of it. Let me know what everyone thinks. I am sorry I will try and get the anery looking baby pic later. I am not saying it is a ghost, I just notice a difference and need help understanding what I am seeing. Thanks everyone, Andy

Well, from my eyes it seems to me you have 4 or 5 salmons in the photo and they all seem to be closer to the right side of the photo. I see the one you are describing and here are a few possibilities. First, it could be, because it is a larger baby, that is is in the beginning stages of it's first shed cycle. Second, it could be a very light or "pastelish" baby. you get those every once in a while even from average looking parents. Third, it could be an anomoly. Just one of the genetic oddballs that will pop up from time to time with so man animals being bred nowadays. I remember when Tip Powers had his site up and had some "ghostish" looking baby for sale that just popped up from breeding animals that were not expected to produce anything like that.

You will know better when they all shed and you won't have any doubts which are which. The male I have is almost 3 years old and was bred to the female pictured below. She is normally lighter colored (buckskin). Can' wait to see what she delivers! Again, congratulations on your beautiful boas. Nothing like a MESS of baby boas!! Take care.
