Photos below are from a fecal float of a healthy acting black rat snake. She was prophylactically treated with panacure and flagyl a year ago. There was also moderate growth of pinworms.

We use frozen mice, and I suspect this is a mite of some type passed along from the mice. Any thoughts?

If this indeed was in the feces of your snake then it is just a passerby, most likely from the mice as you stated. Consider re-evaluating your rodent source. Healthy mice equals healthy meals.

Thanks for the confirmation. We recently switched sources and it is such a good deal it would be hard to switch! I'll call and let them know what I found.
