Alright - I have seen this post a few times and I have to respond. You seem to be jumping into this awful quick. One pair of dragons is not going to make you money if the babies are cared for right, unless you sell at outrageously large prices. I have over 4 pairs of dragons and I barely break even. Babies can eat tens of thousands of crickets a week. Im not even going to get into the whole rant...

The dragon you chose is absolutely beautiful, but she has time to grow before you breed her. By noticing your anxiousness to breed, I have a feeling you may end up breeding her early, so please, think twice before doing so.

And also - There is no one type of dragon that is in total demand. We cant make the decision on what you should breed to make "killer" dragons. Many different color phases can produce many different nice colored babies. That decision should be based on your preference. There are many color phases and gimicks out there, so choose wisely.

Dont take this post the wrong way, just constructive critisicm.

Hey,
where abouts in michigan are you from. Im out near ann arbor. I attend the reptile show in taylor every month. IMO i dont think your going to have an easy time selling them for a ton of money there. I saw some AMAZING beardeds there, actually got one from her for 65 bucks. Dont count on making much more at a local show. Also, its going to be over a year before your lil bearded will be of breeding size...

Here is a pic of the one i picked up 3 months ago at that show.

1.0.0 Chris Allen red x Red flame Beardie (Phil)
0.1.0 Redflame x Orange Beardie (Lilian)
0.1.0 Flaming Tiger x Orange Beardie (Stevie)
0.1.0 Adopted Beardie (Sissy)
0.1.0 Rescue Yellow/German Giant Beardie (Helga) R.I.P
1.0.0 15 year old Eastern Box Turtles (Radar)
0.1.0 Brown Basilisk (Leroy, I know shes a girl!)

Too many leos to count.....

NICE... 65 bucks? She did have good prices...

As far as ther question goes.... I would get the female and raise her up a bit and see if this is for you.... Without proper husbandry, food, etc she won't thrive... Make sure you can take care of her needs and read and learn more about breeding/rearing young dragons... There really is more to it than you'd think there is.

I'm not saying don't do it but females need to be 14-18 months to breed with less worry for her health... Since males breed earlier....somtimes by 9-10months old if they're from a larger bloodline.... You can take several months..Learn proper care study what you'll need to successfully breed and then worry about a male after you've learned more and if raised properly they'll reach breeding age about the same time....You've got awhile so don't stress... just form a plan after you study what you think would be the best way for you to go.

Just my opinion...

Robert
