is a snake that is about 1 1/2 years old and a little over 2ft small? what about one of the same age, but less then 2ft? if it is small, is it unhealthy? also, how big should they be to breed?

hey,i would not breed a snake less than 3 feet in length plus she should be nice and heavy, only the male may be bred shorter than 3 feet, but not much smaller.

steve.............good luck

ok thanx. my main concern though, is if their slow rate of growth is ok or not?

Got any photos? How often do you feed them? Do they eat well?

cant get photos. i was bad for a little bit, i didn't feed them on any kind of regular schedule, sometimes they would go maybe 3 weeks with out food. i thought it was ok, because they were always feeding well, never thin, and active. but now ive got them feeding once every 2 weeks.

i think the under feeding had a large part to play in its reduced size. im no expert but i recently got a corn from someone leaving the country, its 2 years old at least and is only just 3foot long.
the previous owner was still only feeding it on pinkie mice (about 2 a week). im now moving it upto bigger mice and hopefully over a bit time i will see some growth

Yes, that is small. You say you are feeding every 2 weeks now? Most people feed young snakes every week or even slightly more. I would feed weekly for a while. My snakes pass 2' before a year old - my 1 1/2 year old corns are past 3'.
