Here's a wild Cal King I caught in northern california. It was about 10:30 in the morning when I caught him and he was seeking refuge in the shade, it was starting to get hot out.

By the way, this one was caught in a little town called Sunol. The habitat was mixed woodland/grassland near a stream. I also caught an alligator lizard on the same trip.
