For the breeders that are just beginning stop worrying !!!!

bande-exotics Jan 29, 2005 09:35 AM

I read alot of post by people just beginning or getting ready to start breeding ball pythons. They all seem to worry about the prices of common morphs dropping drastically over the next couple of years. First of all if the only thing you are in Ball Python breeding for is the money you dont need to be breeding. Sure the money is nice but the love of the species should be the #1 REASON YOU ARE BREEDING.

Now about the prices of morphs dropping yes some of the morphs prices will go down in the next few years. Heres the catch though BALL PYTHONS ARE NOT DONE YET there are still probably at least a dozen morphs and morph variations still to be discovered and bred out. So if you want to get into breeding morphs go ahead there will be some hot new morph to breed for awhile to come.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL THIS BREEDING SEASON.

Ball pythons and the morphs will be around for a long time to come. Just think of how many people that want Mojave's, Pieds, Cinnamons, Albino's, Pastel's, Platinums, Butters, Spiders and the MANY others that they cannot afford right now, and as the prices come down the people that want them will and can get them. The ball python market is still very strong. Yes, We all want to make money at it, But like was said I just want to use the money I make off of the morphs I have to get the ones I don't have. I could care less if I make a penny as long as I can TRADE for the MORPHS I don't have. For me that is the bottom line. I just want to get the MORPHS I don't have, Some I will produce others I will have to TRADE or SELL what I produce to get what I want. If you like the morphs then go for what your budget will let you get, Or you can jump in feet first like I did. The Market will drop but that is fine that just means more people can buy the Morphs they wanted but couldn't afford. Thanks DAVID

Y'all are going to get tired of seeing and hearing about Peachy, but she is more than a pretty face, she is a ball python eating machine. Up to a medium rat every week like clockwork unless she is in shed, and some weeks she is already giving me the "I'm hungry" look by Thursday! Boy I hope that's genetic...LOL

I have a couple of this morph!! LOL, I hear spiders though tend to hold these genetics too, so I would like to have a couple spider bottomless pit balls!

My NERD line pastel and Bell line pastel both eat 2 F/T jumbo mice every 3-5 days like clock work, shed, no shed, hot, cold. In fact the female NERD line went from 300 grams to 450 grams in 9 days. Talk about a fast growing investment, she definitely has the "i'm hungry gene"

But..............Just remember Ball pythons don't grow fast on mice...hehehe
