Well mealworms eat just about anything....you can try cereals fruits,vegges...so on. You might also want to do a search on the web. Look up breeding mealworms, you ought to be able to find something with that.

Go to one of Peach's posts and click the breeding mealies section in there. It has what they eat. But my guess is that by the time your geckos go through 100 some of the mealies will be pupating and you'll have to breed them (thats good because it saves you loads of money).

Also i forgot in my post to include this site, its very good also. But Peach's is good if you want to breed. www.grubco.com (look around the site and you'll find what they eat).

One of those 5 1/2 gallons is suitable for 100-150 beetles.

100 to 150 beetles will give you about 20,000 worms before you know whats going on LOL. i keep my breeding population of about 20-25 bettles in a small plastic container about 10in round and they produce enough mealies for one gecko plus some. also i use turtle food to gutload them which seems to make them more active(the mealies) and it seems to keep my gecko happier(ie more active, more intrested in the mealies).

those are just my 2 cents.

Not really unless you give them letuce and you forget to replace it with new and it dries out, then you will hear the dragging it. But no mating calls.

How about a food processer? Or if you have neither you could put it in a thick plastic bag and hit it with a hammer . Is there a thrift store around you? Most of the time they have cheap blenders that work great for making meal. Good luck.
