Different types of bloods - Love and Bath time - dialup warning

5rings Jan 29, 2005 02:27 PM

I try to give my bigger snakes bath time every other Saturday. I have too many to do them every week. The larger snakes enjoy it immensely, and they are in much better moods when they come out. This Saturday it was cold and rainy here and I was again bored, so I thought I'd make some introductions where I could watch them closely. Wow, was I rewarded. The Blacks bred, the Bankas bred and the orange/browns were courting hot and heavy.
The Sarawaks are too young (rats) and the Borneo is just a little nubin' but I included their pictures to show the contrast and variety amongst different types of bloods. It was an enjoyable and entertaining day in the tub.

Sorry for the bad pix - the camera is on its last leg and Ive just been too busy watching snakes have sex to go buy a better one. Enjoy the show.

Maybe this will work. By the way, the female Banka is really and truly the lipstick red you see in the pictures. I didnt doctor the pix. I've got two of these girls and their color is impossible to believe

Hey,
That Bangka, is quite the looker, and the what I think are Sarawak's are very nice too. Heck, I love them all. I just think there are some real stand-outs!

You still have the best looking Blacks on the planet. I am jealous. And, yes those are Sarawaks, though from my picture taking skill it is hard to tell. I would be more than happy to meet everyone on the list for a good old fashioned swap meet later this year. I have an empty cage for Jet jr. and one of the list members has some Borneos that are to-die-for. Money would have to be banned from attendance. The only currency we would accept is best-of-breed bloods. Do you think the bar in the hotel would trade beverages for snakes?

She is just dumb luck. I got her from a local guy. Both parents are normal Borneos. The dam laid 35 eggs and this is the one and only survivor. I'll let you know in 3 years if that dorsal stripe can be filled in by crossing her with a superstripe male if I can find one that isnt ridiculously priced. The best thing about her is her temperament. She seems to love to be handled.

Ah, so her condition has the possibility of being temperature-related. I have a baby sonoran boa like that. Waiting til she gets older to see if I can prove her condition. Its a LONG wait!

I agree, the prices on super stripes are ridiculous.
