Probably getting ready to shed that area off, they will rub their nose and heads trying to get the old skin off. Make sure you mist not only the nose and head of your dragon but mist the whole dragon from nose to tip of tail, not forgetting the legs and feet, that will help it shed. I mist my dragon at twice a day with water. I give him a soak in the sink in warm water once and sometimes twice a week.

A darker color can be a sign of an infection developing under the skin. In my cage I cut a piece of wood about 7 inches high and leaned it against the entire front of the tank, on the inside. Now it is very hard for her to get to the glass so she doesn't bother anymore.
