looks like a male stinkpot to me or its also known as a musk turtle or Sternotherus odoratus

It's a mud turtle. The plastron is too complete to be a stinkpot, and the head structure is a little different than that of a stinkpot. Based on the stripes behind the eye, it looks to be a Mississippi mud - Kinosternon subrubrum hippocrepis. That would, however, depend on where the turtle is from.
Looks like a Miss. Mud. Definately not a musk turtle.
