Let them both rest for a few days and try again. You may want to offer the male a small meal as well as the female. Most cycle their BP's for 3 to 4 months so a week is a short amount of time. I have to keep telling my self that as well.

...there is always a PRE-OV shed, generally between 6-10 weeks before ovulation...females will usually breed before this shed, and then some will breed for a few to several weeks after as well...some will breed almost right up to the ovulation, but usually not...
...it sounds like you are still waiting on the PRE-OV shed, so you have plenty of time for additional matings...as the prior poster said, keep on re-introducing your male, especially RIGHT AFTER the PRE-OV shed, when the female should be highly receptive...if her weight is good (nice bulky appearance), you probably will get good eggs.
Good luck!!!

actually she just shed last night? so would this be here pre shed?
thanks Paul

...usually after the PRE-OV shed, the female will start to lay cool...as the follicles grow, there will be a gradually increasing turgidness of the posterior body, or what LOOKS like a weight gain, and then near to ovulation, or certianly after ov, the female will seek heat...
...feeding behavior: before the PRE-OV shed, the female will often feed, and often quite well, but then after the PRE-OV shed, feeding will shut down.
Hope this all helps!
